MOUTOA NOTES.
(Own Correspondent). A rounders team from the local school played a return match at Foxton on Saturday last, suffering a defeat by 21 rounders to 6. Miss Wanklyn supervised the game and during an interval afternoon tea was dispensed by the Foxton team. At the conclusion of the match the girls cheered each other in a most enthusiastic manner. The following girls scored rounders for their respective sides Foxton : F. Osboldstone 6, E. Alzdorf 1, B. Spiers 4, E. Robinson 2, E, Coley 3, E. Nye 2, I. total 21; Moutoa—Julia Bowes, Avis Dudsou 2, Minnie Burr 1, total 6. The local school closed an Wednesday for the Christmas holidays and the picnic will take place on Friday. Mr W. Carter has been experimenting with a new seed-grass cutter but it has not fulfilled expectations, which is a pity, for good capable cutters are very hard to get. Complaints are rife here concerning the post-card fiend. On several occasions cards of a very objectionable nature have been received by local residents, and to make matters worse usually unstamped. Perhaps if the thing were put into the hands of the police the nuisance might cease.
