AUSTRAL WHEEL RACE.

Melbourne, December 16.

The Austral Wheel Race resulted: —Thomas 1, Hehir 2, Morgan 8. It was the best Austral Wheel Race ever seen. After six laps had been gone the back markers drew up with the middle division. , Thomas rode strongly. When the bell went, Smith and Hendy led all along the back stretch. Then Thomas closed on them, while Morgan, who had previously caught them, led into the staight, with Hehir close up. Haltway from home Thomas gave a great jump and dashed away winning by a length. Time, Bmin. 59sec, which is a record for the race.
