THE LIQUOR TRADE.
Dunedin, Dec. 14
The “Otago Daily Times” learns from an official source that it is intended to hold a conference of licensed victuallers at an early date during the coming year, with the object of considering the question of licensees who conduct their businesses improperly. It is proposed to initiate legislation which will deal with such offenders, and also to adopt measures to put the trade in every part of the colony on a footing that will be satisfactory to the great body of electors.
