Rob Roy has taken a number, of prizes at Christchurch and elsewhere. JEWELL took Ist prize at Ellesmere in her class, also Ist with her sister as a pair of mares, and Champion for the best mare on the ground; and Ist at Christchurch, i 895, in her elass ; Ist as a mare with foal at foot at Christchurch i 896 and ißg7; and Ist as one of the pair of mares at Christchurch and Ellesmere. GENERAL GORDON, bred by Mr John Boag, of Brookside, is by Sutton’s Victor, dam Marchioness I, g dam Princess Maud 111. General Gordon was very successful in the Show ring. He took six xsts, two ands, and also Special and Champion Prizes in 188 S and iBB9. Victor (Sutfon’s) by Conqueror (imp. from Scotland). He took seven Ist prizes, four Specials, and Champion Gold Medal twice. Marchioness I, gained sixteen Ist prizes, seven 2nds, and eighteen Specials and Champion Gold Medal, and she was first seven times with two of her progeny. ROB ROY 11. was shown at Ellesmere as a yearling, taking Ist prize. It will be seen that ROB ROY H.’S breeding is such as should recommend to tho'e desiring the best of blood, as he is connected with the very best strains of Clydesdale blood in Scotland.
