Perth, December 7, The pedestrian championship contests attracted an attendance of about fifteen thousand people. Postle defeated Day, the English champion, by three yards in the seventy-five yards race, in 7 1-5 seconds. In the three hundred yards race he finished three yards in front of Day in 30 4-5300. Day attributes his defeat to illluck. He says he was not given time to get a proper start. He challenges Postle to re-run the races.
