Monthly Mooting.

The monthly meeting of the above was held last night. Present: Messrs F, Pirani (Chairman), Carson, Dixon, Guthrie, Purnell, Fraser and Bennett. Leave of absence was granted to Messrs Spurdle and Smith. Besignations.—S. A. Smith, Eomako; J. Flyger, Auroa; H. McLean, Manui; Mrs J. H. Peatt’s resignation was accepted and she was granted three months leave on full pay. This teaohpr has been in the Board’s employ seventeen years. Appointments: Newbury, Miss Cassey; Watershed Bead, Mr Walford; Mosstown, Miss Horneman. Leave of absence on account of sickness, and to attend examinations was granted to several teachers. Taihape—lt was resolved to recommend Miss Thompson to send in her resignation, the Board undertaking to find her an appointment when one is available.

The controller and auditor general forwarded a certificated copy of the balance-sheet.

The usual monthly reports were read and adopted. Foxton.—Besolved that the Board’s architect be sent to report on the teacher’s residence, the suitability of the old Schoolhousc for technical classes, and the value of the trap shed, shelves, etc.

Mr G. H. Bennett was reappointed the Board’s representative on the Palmerston North District High School Committee;

Resolved to grant two travelling Bchoolaruhips next year, one each to male and female teachers. All tea* chors to be asked by circular to send a paper in competition for same. Holidays. Decided to close the Board Office for a fortnight from 22nd, and that the inspectors have the month of January, and that the Board’s officers be granted three weeks each in rotation.
