A DANGEROUS MINER.

Stabs a Manager.

Auckland, Yesterday.

Thomas Manning has been arrested at Coromandel and charged with having stabbed William Hollis, manager of the old Kaponga gold mine, with a sheath knife. Manning called upon Hollis to get paid for some work at the mine. It is alleged Manning stabbed him through the muscular part of the arm, the knife severing all the muscles and coming out at the shoulder. Unless blood-poisoning sets in, the doctor does not anticipate immediate danger. It is stated Manning was dismissed a few days ago.
