Foxton v. Mouloa Schools.
The first match, of the season between these schools was played on Saturday in Victoria Park, and resulted in a win for the Foxton boys by. the narrow margin of 4 runs Mr Stewart had secured the new limestone pitch and coeoanut matting from the committee of the Cricket Association for the match, but after al few preliminary balls the boys scorned the matting. »'We like a fast pitch !" they said. So they had their fast pitch, and fewer runs. The following are the scores;— FOXTON.
After the game, which was played in the best of good cricketing spirit, the visitors were properly entertained at Mr Perreaus rooms, > Mr Dobson, a enthusiast, assisted for a time by the Rev. Mr Southern, kindly umpired to the satisfaction of all. The return match, weather and other things permitting, will bo played at Moutoa next Saturday.
