THE POST OFFICE.
Ii is again our duty to make pub He complaints against the P. and T. Department in reference to the local post office. As we have said before the building is worm-eaten, and unsightly and a disgrace. The public appointments are scandalous and there are insufficient private boxes, and new subscribers to the telephone have to wait a considerable time before they are connected. The postmaster is worried daily with complaints but he is helpless to remedy matters. The member for the district must surely know the shameful state of affairs and we urge him to have an officer of the Public Works Department sent to inspect and report on the gabled derelict. The growing importance of the town and district merits more attention from the Government than has been bestowed of late years.
