The spring meeting of the Feilding Jockey Club commences on Thursday next, when there is bound to be the usual large attendance. An especial attraction this season is the First Fielding Stakes, of 500 sovs, which is likely to bring the list of the colony’s weight - for - age horses together. All the events have filled well, and speculators will have no easy task before them in selecting winners. Excursion railway fares will be charged from Foxton, while the Palmerston train will be delayed to allow of intending sports journeying heme each evening. Form points to the following being returned as winners :—;

Flying Splendid Idea or Golden Gate with Ford Soult to upset the pot. Aorangi Hack —Moral or Daly Nell. St. Andrews.—Douche or Gi. 11 • merman with Operetta handy. Spring Hurdles Cavalry or Capulet.

Kiwitea Welter. or Rosegrave, Fitzroy Hack Fying.— Sweet Helen or Volume.
