Goldmine’s dam was Scotch Lassie, Richmond (imp.,) dam Pearl Richmond (imp.) by Bride of Richmond, by Gallant Scotchman (imp.) dam Australian Maggie, by Muir Lad (imp.), from Glasgow Maggie, imp.; Pearl by Lord Salisbury/ imp, from Damsel, imp. Scotch Lassie took the following prizes: First as a yearling at Tapanui; first at Tapanui as a two-year-old ; first and champion at Tapanui as a three-year-old; first as one of a pair the same year; and first at three years at Taieri. Pearl has taken numerous prizes, and has bred five, prize winners, including the champion of Otago, Herd Lassie.
