BARQUE LUTTERWORTH.
Wellington, Thursday,
The barque Lutterworth, which was dismasted in Cook Strait last month and abandoned and towed into Wellington two days later, is still in possession of the Collector of Customs as Receiver of Wrecks. The owners wish to sell the vessel but the salvors object, as they wish the question of salvage to be settled by the Admiralty Court. The Receiver of Wrecks has been advised by his solicitors that under the circumstances he cannot sell the barque, but must release her upon getting a bond from the owners to settle the salvage claims. The owners have agreed that the Union Steam Shipping Company are entitled to ,£ioo for rescuing the officers and crew of the dismasted vessel.
