He is the lightest horseman who has ridden a New Zealand Cup winner. | |The lucky one who struck the /200 double at the New Zealand Cup meeting is stated to be a youth 18 years of age. It is further alleged that he did not ask for the ticket on Star Rose and Captain Shannon, the winners, but on Star Rose and Munjeet, and when he perceived the mistake he stood arguing angrily in front of the totalisator house until cleared away from the enclosure by the clerk in charge. The local pony, Lord Soult, won a double at Waverley races yesterday. paying £2 ns and £2 3s dividends.
