Jottings. The Sea Fisherie c Bill, GieyJkftyn Gasworks Bill and Greytown Bill were read the first time. The Civil Service. Superannuation Bill has been read the second time pro forma, and referred to the Public Accounts Committee. A similar course was followed with the National Annuities Bill, after the Premier had explained that evidence would be taken and every opportunity given to the friendly societies to consider the details of the measure. The Maori Land Claims Adjustment and Laws Amendment Bill was passed. The Landless Natives Bill was passed through Committee. The Government Advances to Settlers Bill was passed through Committee. Mr Hornsby’s Quackery and other Frauds Prevention Bill was committed and stonewalled last night. Progress was reported and the House rose at 11.15 p.m, THE LAND BILL. It is considered that the Laud Bill is now nearing its completion at the hands of the Lands Committee, and it is probable that the committee’s report may be presented to the House next Friday. If the report Should arrive on that day the Bill, with its amendments, will be circulated on Tuesday next.
