The Manawatu Herald. THURSDAY, SEPT 20, 1906. MR BLIGH’S LECTURE.

We should have been pleased to have seen the Masonic Hall packed to the doors last evening by men and youths—particularly the latter— to have heard Mr Bligh’s message on the reproduction of life and sexual purity. Boys and girls are allowed to grow up in ignorance of this subject. Parents, prompted by a sense of mock modesty and prudery fail to take the son or daughter aside and enlighten them on this most important question. Parents shroud the use and abuse of. these organs 'in gruesome mystery. It is a subject to be approached with reverence and paternal affection. But too often the youth is impressed with wicked desires through being contaminated by foul blackguards, filled with lust, who have no respect for themselves or womankind. Parents should realise the great responsibility resting upon them and take every precaution to shield their boys and girls against temptation and the quack, by imparting that knowledge which should come from them. We are sure Mr Bligh’s lecture last night will have a splendid effect upon the lives of those young fellows who listened to him with such marked attention.
