New Zealand’s Products.
A leaflet showing the exports of various products from the colony last mouth is to hand from the . Department of Agriculture. In a number of cases the figures show a decline on those for the corresponding month in 1905. while in a few instances an increase is noticed. Following are the chief items mentioned, the figures in parentheses being for August, 1905. The export of butter was 1,071 cwt (2,912 cwt), valued at £5,298 (£13,661); of cheese, 139 cwt .(168 cwt), valued at £452 (£445); of frozen mutton, 168,801 carcases (159,051), weighing 82,743 cwt (68,931 cwt), valued at £104,205 (£129,763)." The export of frozen . mutton legs and pieces was 5-,859 cwt (738 cwt), valued at £7,938 £1,172. 140,495 carcases of frozen lamb, valued at £72,357 (£97,433) were sent out. Big drops are noticeable in the exports of grain, wheat falling from 207,183 to 6,724 bushels, the respective values being £31,250 and £1,056. Oats tell from 107,630 to 49,208 bushels the values being set down at £9,912 and £5,615 respectively. Of potatoes, we only exported 7 tons, valued at £BB, as against .33 tons valued at £29, the August before. The export ot flax also showed a decline from 2,157 to 1,271 tons, the respective values of the exports being £49,813 and . £36.309.
