All Saints’ Sewing Guild

TEA AND CONCERT. The annual tea and concert held under the auspices of All Saints’ Sewing Guild, took place last evening and was a most successful function. The large tables groaned under the weight of choice edibles provided and the tea was well patronised. The' ladies were most assiduous in tending the wants of those who patronised the tea. Tea being over the floor space was cleared and seating accommodation provided for the large and appreciative audience which listened to the concert programme. The Rev. Mr Wilson in opening the concert expressed pleasure at seeing such a large number present. Many would be thinking that this would be the last time that lie would be present at this animal function. He hoped, however, to be present again next year. The concert was then proceeded with as follows, every item being deservedly appreciated : Pianoforte Duet, Misses Jenks and Gray ; Song, “Anchored,” Mr Hair: Brass Quartette, “Remembrance,’ Messrs Ebbett, Betty, Newth and Read ; Vocal Duet, “ Fell her ' love her so,” Mrs Healey am; Miss Jenks ; Graphaphone- Selections, Mr Hankins ; Song, “ The Old Brigade,” Mr G. Barber; Violin Solo, “ Concertino in E. Minor,” Hans Sitt, Miss Ava Symons ; Encore, “ Seconds Romance,” Berthold Tows, -Mies A. Symons ; Recitation, Hr H-.-rn-blow, encored : Brass Duct. “ Gar- ! board Watch,” Messrs Petty -w ' Ebbett ; Song, “ I fear no foe. Mr Hair ; Brass Quartette, “Clou- ; and Sunshine,” Mr Ebbed: and j party. Mrs J. D. Hankins playec, j the accompaniments in a very j finished style. _ | Tne singing of the National Anthem brought the concert to close. Where all worked so we!’ it would be invidious to single out any ladies for special praise.
