It is an ideal seaside resort. Miles of firm sandy beach—and a splendid view. But getting there! Two miles of about the toughest stretch of road for vehicles and bicycles it is possible to imagine. The seaside is one of Foxton’s natural and most valuable assets, and surely “ the powers that be " can do something to give better access to it. It is sincerely hoped that a move will be made in this direction by some energetic individual. Thus the “ Manawatu Farmer ». —" We must congratulate the new proprietor of the Foxton Herald on the great improvement effected in the appearance of that journal since it came into his hands. Foxtonians will appreciate the change." We have pleasure in acknowledging this compliment seeing that it conies from an old master who laid the foundation upon which the present proprietor has., endeavoured to build his newspaper career. It is worthy of note that many of Mr Nation’s apprentices have made great headway in the newspaper world —due to the careful training and kindly interest he always evinced in his “boys."
