Manawatu Rowing Club.

A number of ladies attended the meeting called by the Mayoress for the purpose of assisting the Manawatu Rowing Club with their forthcoming ball. Mrs Gower occudied the chair, and the secretary of the Club was in attendance, who briefly explained the object of the meeting. After considerable discussion the following committee of ladies was elected. Mesdames Gower, Stewart, Play wood and Misses Haywood, N. Laing, and Hamer, with power to add to their number. I was decided that a meeting of the Ladies Committee and Club’s Committee be held at Haywood’s Hotel, on Friday evening at 8 o’clock, to discuss ways and means. The usual vote of thanks to the chair and to Mr Hill for the use of his rooms concluded the meeting.
