“A Fearfully Bad Case.

What was described by the prosecution as “ a fearfully bad case came before Mr Dyer, S.M , today, a dairyman named William McQuoid being charged with committing four breaches of the Dairy Industry Act regulations in failing to thoroughly cleanse a milk cooler and strainer, taking milk for human "consumption from a cow without first cleansing its udder and teats, and milking without first cleansing his hands. McQuoid pleaded guilty. The Crown Solicitor said McQuoid had apparently broken every regulation framed to secuie cleanliness. Two inspectors wh > looked at the cooler and strainer in McQuoid ’s dairy found that it had only been rubbed over with a cloth, while underneath was an accumulation of milk in a putrid state* The Magistrate described the case as horrible. He imposed _ a fine of £i\ on each of the four informations, with costs, bringing the total to £2O.
