Montgomery’s Company.
FOXTON, TO-NIGHT. The, strength of the above popular company has been considerably enhanced since their last visit here by the quite recent arrival from England of Mr W. H 5, Montgomery, brother of the proprietor. The former comes with very high credentials as a vocalist of excellent attainments, as the following press criticisms will go to show. The Manchester Guardian thus eulogises his vocalisation :—“ Mr Montgomery’s t beautiful voice enabled him to do ? full justice to the beautiful music allotted to “ Grosvenor ” in “ Patience,” which he sang with great taste and won unstinted applause from the large audience.” The London Chronicle referring to a performance at the Crystal Palace, thus expresses itself, “ Mr W. H. Montgomery created a perfect furore, with his masterly rendering of Sullivan’s grand composition , ‘ ‘ Thou art passing hence ny Brother.” Mr Montgomery’s voice is a baritone of wide range and compass and he should certainly prove a decided acquisition to the popular organisation so long and favourably known as Montgomery’s Entertainers. Another fine array of new animated pictures will be shown at Foxton y to-night including the Frisco disaster and Mt Vesuvious in eruption, both of which are long pictures and are very highly spoken of by our exchanges. Mr Edmund Montgomery and Miss Ettie Hargood will contribute new illustrated songs, while the popular comedian of the company, will unfold a budget, of new comics from his extensive repertoirs.
His mind imbued with noble thought— For the good of all mankind” A chemist patiently worked and sought A cure for colds to find. • • The ceaseless toil of an active brain Its reward did at length ensure ; Vnd the chemist gave to the world his gain— Wooods' Great Peppermint Cure.
