THE E. A. .COLEY CUP COMPETITION. ALBION’S (7) v. HUIA (o). The prevailing floods yesterday prevented many of Huia's best juniors from reaching Foxton and the result was that Albions had no difficulty in defeating £ii out-of-conditioned Huia scratch fifteen. Albion won by 7 to o, a try by Read’e and a dropped goal by Overend. The services of Mr Fred Robinson were secured as referee, who is said to have given a good exhibition, and had players completely under his control. Messrs J. Jillett and A. Imrie were the touch judges.
NOTES. The Sub-Union wish to return thanks to Mr and Mrs Hamer for kindness in attending to the wants of an injured player yesterday. Young Rim met, a promising Albion wing-torvvard had the misfortune to accidentally dislocate his collar-bone yesterday in the Huia game. Awahou team for Saturday ; Backs : Reid, Saville, Spiers, W, Coley, Jones, Gibbs; forwards, Joe, Broad, Jeffries, Shea Shea, J. Coley, Williams, Hooker, Shadbolt, Wright.
