SUB-UNION MEETING.

TheFoxton Football Sub-Union met at the Manawatu Hotel on Tuesday evening, there being present—Messrs H. Austin (chairman, P. O’pea, J. A’Court, JS Thompson, R. Newth, J. Desmond, J.- Jillett, A. Imrie, A. Shadbolt, J. Williams, and the secretary. . _ The minutes of the previous Off dinary and special meetings wcj © read and confirmed.' management appointments. Mr J. The charge of foul play against Hartley occupied some time, during which Constable Whitehouse, }. Jillett, R. Newth, J. Williams, A. Shadbolt, and E. Sutherland gave evidence. Hartley himself wrote in a repentent manner to the Sub-Union admitting the charge. Mr P. O’Dea moved, and J. Desmond seconded, “That Hartley's explanation be received, bur. that he be warned that for any iuture impeachment or foul play he will be severely dealt with.” Carried. Mr J. Jillett moved as an amendment, “That Hartley be disqualified for one month from time of occurrence, and that Williams be cautioned.’’ ; This found no seconder. GENERAL. On the ground of exceptional' circumstances, W. Mclntyre was re-instated as a junior player for Sandon club. The matter of arranging the Rangitikei rep. match was left to the secretary. The Sub-Union decided to hold a Ball in August, gents tickets to be 7s 6d. A proposition that the. fee be half-a-guinea was negatived. ■ Mr'j. Jillett was appointed td canvass for trophies for the seven-a-side sports. For donating a trophy for the runner-up in the senior competition, Mr Watchorn wus accorded a vote of thanks ; while for presenting a medal for the best drop-kick at the sports, Mr H.. Austin was tendered a similar compliment.

SENIOR FIXTURES. The following senior fixtures' were drawn up, to be played in order on each available Satur- * day:— Sandon v. Huia, Mr Nash referee. Oroua Bridge v. Awahou. Mr - Keriona referee. All the above matches are atN Foxton, and the first game is on Saturday next, Saudon-Huia. JUNIOR FIXTURES. Junior final round fixtures were drawn as follows ; July 25. —Sandon v, Awahou, at Foxton. When Mr 1 inrie objected to Mr Sutherland refereeing in the San-dou-Albion fixture, Mr Sutherland inquired if the Albions had any special grounds for objection. Mr Lurie stated that Albions objection was that be himself had been told that Mr Sutherland had said that had he refereed in the last Albion-Sandon match at Foxton, he would have awarded Sandon two more tries against Albions, Mr Sutherland refuted all knowledge of the statement. However, the charge had been made fcpenly, and emphatically denying that he ever made, the assertion, he challenged Mr Imrie to bring evidence before the Sub-Union -at next meeting to prove his words. If it was proved that he had been guilty of passing such a gross remark, he would at once resign from all connection with subUnion. Otherwise he looked to Mr Imrie to resign his seat. Mr Imrie wished to resign there and then, but afterwards undertook to bring his informer to the next meeting of the Sub-Union, when the matter will be dealt with. Votes of thanks to the chair and to Mr Shadbolt for use of room concluded a stormy and lengthy meeting. ■a——qww—— m
