The Manawatu Herald. THURSDAY, JULY 12, 1906. MORE JUSTICES.
Onge again Foxton cries out for more Justices of the Peace. This time the shriek comes from the Foxton Borough Council, and let us hope they may be heard. We have pleaded so incessantly that we fully expected’ to note in the last batch of appointments several Foxton gentlemen. But no, we were doomed to disappointment. This is not as it should be, and with our present J.’sP. such busy men, we have long since had it evidenced that even one of these has been unavailable at times. It is certainly- not justice to expect anyone charged with trivial offences to be compelled to linger before being brought before the noble beak, perhaps for crimes they are guiltless of. By all means, let us have more Justices of the Peace, and let these be appointed at once. Foxton is steadily growing, and the demand is made in the best interests of law and order.
