Dairy Farm Machinery.

A great feature at the Winter Show and Dairymen’s convention at Palmerston North, June igth to a 2nd next is the concentration of operating machinery in all pliases of Dairy work. Time, labour, and money saving devices are a feature that appeal to the pocket. Dairy farming is a business and the efficient short cuts make for mortgage lifting. Manufacturers are making extra demands for space requiring some coo feet of shafting to run refrigerators, churns, separators, and appliances. This specialization in exhibiting operating machinery under the personal supervision of experts makes for efficiency in display .and asserting the fulfilment of requirements claimed for machinery. Milking machines of. the Lawrence-Ken-nedy and Hutchinson makes will he demonstrated in operation on cows. As both machines have given practical evidence of efficiency the opportunity of comparison will be valuable to visitors.

Summing up the outlook in mechanical development and the possibilities of improved feeding, half a cow will soon equal in product the output of a whole cow of five years back. Well all this and much more is the objective ideas of the Winter show displays and dairvmen’s convention at Palmerston North and stimulates the visitor and dairymen in the march of progress.
