Death of Mrs J. T. Levett.

Quite a gloom was cast over the town on Saturday evening, when it became known that Mrs J. T. Levett had passed away at the untimely age of 47 years a little after seven o’clock at the Manawatu Hotel. Deceased lady had been ailing for a few weeks, and though her sufferings must have been great, still death was not expected until Friday last, when the deceased lady’s health seemed to be failing fast.

During her residence in Foxton the deceased lady made manv friends, who, together with her husband and family will mourn her loss. Deceased has three surviving relatives in the colonv. viz., Mrs Alex. , o’Donneh Omaha), and Messrs H. and J. Kearns (Otakeho), all three being cousins to the late Mrs Levett. The remains were removed to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Foxton, yesterday morning, where mass was conducted bv Rev. Father Schaefer, of Otaki. Deceased was conveyed to Levin by A. Tousou’s hearse this morning, and Unnc* to Wellington, where the funeral was to have taken place at Karori Cemetery this afternoon. Deceased leaves a husband, four daughters and three' sons, to mourn their loss, and to these we tender our heartfelt sympathv. Mr A. Jonson acted as undertaker.
