RIVAL LEADERS.

New York, April 30. A small minority in Zion City welcomed J. A. Dowie, the selfstyled “ modern Elijah ” who has been reconciled with his wife and son.

Mr Volivia, formerly of Australia, who is said to be supremein command, addressing ahnajority of the residents in the city, declared the whole Eowie family must be swept off. $ Dowie was supported On to .the platform, owing to weakness, and preached to three thousand people in the evening. In the course of his address he protested his' innocence, and described Volivia aS a scoundrel.
