The Sultan has replied to the Khedive that he is unfavourable further discussion. The Tabah dispute now rests between Britain and the Porte. The Sixth Inniskilling Dragoons are proceeding to Esypt r a - London, April 26.
An unconfirmed report states that the First Division of General FirenciFs First Army Corps has been instructed to prepare to mobolise. It is hinted that the division is intended for South Africa, but if the report is confirmed it is more likely to be owing to the Sultan’s bellicose attitude.
The Tribune is responsible for the publication of the unconfirmed report regarding mobilisation. Its Cairo correspondent learns that Turkey intends to. support her claims by force, though there is no immediate prospect of a conflict.
It is officially denied that General French’s corps is mobilising.
