Claim £2 8s gd, costs 7s 6d. W. Baker (Mr Moore) v. J. Sutton. Claim £ l, costs ss. El. Wright (Mr Moore) v. A. Bee. Claim £1 13s 7c!, costs Bs. Other cases were dealt with. CRIMINAL.

Police v. A. Blyde. For drunkenness. Convicted and fined xos, in default 48 hoars. Police v. C. Spiers. Theft of swag, value 30s, the property of C. Haack. Case dismissed.

Police v. W. Smith (Mr Reade). Procuring liquor for prohibited person. Case dismissed.

Police v. H. Bradcock (Mr Reade). In possession of liquor whilst prohibited. Case dismissed, the Magistrate stating that he could not convict, as .Smith rented ' the room. Still the police were justified in taking action.

Police v. W. Anderson, for whom Mr Harden appeared. ..Obscene language at Oroua Bridge racecourse. Fined 40s, costs £1 i6s6d, in default seven days.
