TWO BLUEJACKETS INJURED.
Auckland, March 29, An accident happened at Calf hope Dock this morning to two siilors belonging to H.M.S. En« counter, and one of them is at present in a critical condition. appears that a party of bluejackets were engaged in hauling up a target by means of a capstan in the dockyard. One of the capstan pohs snapped, and struck an able sea'nan named Swan ton on the back of the head, inflicting serious nj uries. His head was cut open, an I he was picked up unconscious. Another seaman named Bailey was struck across the stomach by the poh, but his injuries are not serious. Swanton was still uincou ; cious this afternoon, but his condition is regarded as serious. Auckland, March 30.
The siilor Swanton, who was injure i on Thursday at the Calliope dock, died that evening on H.M.S. Encounter.
