Cricket.
FOXTON ASSOCIATION'.
At a meeting of the Foxton Cricket Association last evening, there were present—Messrs L. E. Reade, J. E.' Marshall, J. Bowe, T. Betty, W. Nye, and L. Furrie (hon. sec.) The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Correspondence was read _ from the Manawatu Cricket Association and Levin Club.
It was proposed by Mr Reade and seconded by Mr Marshall, That this Association desire to record their regret at the repeated vacillating attitude shown by the Levin C.C. in making arrangements to play cricket with the Foxton Association and cancelling the match after putting the latter to unnecessary trouble, and that a copy of the resolution be forwarded to the secretary of the Levin C.C. Carried. On the motion of Mr Betty, seconded by Mr Nye, Mr Stiles’ account of £2 for matting was passed for payment. It was decided to wind up the season with a social, tickets to be 2s each, and limited to members of dubs, Mr Perreau’s offer for catering was accepted. Messrs Stiles, Marshall, Furrie and Reade were appointed a Committee to arrange for social and draw up programme. Proposed by Mr Reade, and seconded by Mr Marshall, “ That in view of Mr Furrie’s departure from Foxton, this Association, whilst regretting same, wish him every success in his new sphere, and desire that a resolution thanking him for his services as secretary to the Association be recorded in the minute book.” Carried. Votes of thanks to Mr Reade for use of room and to the chair concluded the meeting. ■
