A meeting of the Koxton Football Executive was held at Laing’s Hotel on Thursday evening, when there were present: —Messrs H. Austin (chairman), P. Jeuks, J. Jillett, -F. Robinson, and E. G. Sutherland.
The report and balance-sheet were presented, showing the year’s working to have been profitable. The full report will be published later. It was passed by Executive. Reference was made in the report to the referee difficulty, and suggesting that a local referees’, association be formed. On the motion of the chairman, it was decided that the Executive favour granting secretary £$ for his services during the past year. On Mr F. Robinson’s suggestion, it was decided to write to the Manawatu Union re the removal of the disqualification of a Foxton player, and also asking whether Manawatu Union would give the Executive power to deal with the matter.
Members generally favoured still throwing in their lot with Manawatu as a sub-Union, provided the conditions concerning sub-unions entitled them to guard their own finance.
Mr Sutherland was appointed to wait on the Manawatu Union with reference to these matters.
The donation of a championship banner for competition was thankfully received by the Executive, the donor being Mrs H. Austin. It is proposed that this banner shall be won from year to year with each winning club's name worked in. The trophy is sure to cause keen competition.
The different Club secretaries were instructed to call their annual
nred'i ’i immediately, so that the new .Executive can meet and arrange for competition to commence as soon after Easter as possible.
Votes of thanks to the chair and to Mr Eaing for use of room concluded the business.
