pOXTON BOROUGH COUNCIL Loans Proposals & Special District. PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the Eoxton Borough Council proposes to borrow under “The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1901, and Amendments,” as follows (Ist) The sum of £IOOO for the purpose of erecting in Main Street, next to Post Office, a building to contain Public Library and Reading Room, Council Chamber, offices, also caretaker’s rooms, and two shops for letting, and to strike a special rate of one and one-half pence in the £ upon all the rateable property in the Borough to provide interest and other annual charges upoii the said -Loan; it is not anticipated that this rate will be collected, as the rents to be derived from the two shops and present Library Buildings should be more than sufficient to meet all charges. The cost of raising the Loan and the first year’s interest to be paid out of Loan. (2nd) The sum of £IOOO for the construction of six Concrete Tanks, below the surface of Main Street, each to be 10ft x 10ft x 7ft, to be filled from surface storm water and used for lire extinction purposes ; the purchase of Fire Engine, Hose, &c., and the erection of suitable buildings to store same, and it is proposed to strike a Special Rate over a Special District, inclusive of all the sections in the Main Street,, of ninepence farthing in £ on all the rateable properties in the said district to provide interest and other annual charges upon the said Loan. In pursuance of “ The Alcoholic Liquors Sale Control Act, 1893” and its amendments, notice is hereby given that an election for the return of Five qualified persons to serve as Members of the Licensing Committee for the said District will be held, and the poll if necessary will be taken at the under-mentioned polling places of the said Diftrict, on TUESDAY, the 13th day of March, 1906.
