Our Footballers.
In the Public Hall, Foxton, next Monday night Mr Macdermott’s company will inaugurate their season of two nights when the living pictures of the New Zealand footballers, which have created intense enthusiasm whereever exhibited, will be presented for the first time in Foxton. The pictures include the notable matches against Northumberland, won by “ our boys ” by 31 points to nil. It is said that 14 living picture cameras were engaged at the matches, so that all points of interests might be taken, and as Mr Macdermott says the views of the Glanlorgan match are the finest he has seen, patrons may expect something good. The rest of the programme comprises scenes entirely new to this district, a special feature being the great comedy chase pictures which are said to “bringdown the house.'*’ The scenes showing the construct of a railway engine are a unique collection. The new flagship of the Australasian squadron, H.M.S. Powerful, will be seen berthing at Portsmouth, this picture also giving a fine view of Nelson’s “ Victory.’’ Professor W. E. Scott will appear in new feats of magic, including the cabalistic cards, the mint in 1996 and the invisible severance. His veutriloquial performance, in which he is assisted by several life-sized automata, is said to be much above the average. Miss N. Caulton is musical directress and the stage settings are in the hands of Mr James Meredith. Full incidentals and effects will be introduced by a specially trained staff. A crowded house should greet the Company’s appearance.
