THE LABOUR PARTY.
London, Feb. 16. Mr Enoch Edwards is Chairman and Mr Bell vice-Chairman of a separate Trade Unionist group in the House of Commons. Messrs Fenwick and Ward are the Whips representing the miners and railway men.
[A cable at the beginning of the week stated that a section of the Labour Party, comprising 29 members, had appointed Mr Keir Hardie leader.] MR BALFOUR’S ELECTION. London, Feb. 16. The City Liberal Association is reconsidering whether it will oppose Mr Balfour’s candidature.
GRADUATED INCOME TAX.
London, Feb. 16. The Daily News, commenting on Government pensions, advises Mr Asquith, Chancellor of the Exchequer, to revise them and graduate the income tax.
