Before the Ecclesiastical Court of Canterbury, the deferred decision in the case of the Bishop of St. Albans v. Fillingham was given. Defendant, who has hitherto been Vicar, of Hoxton, is charged (1) with purporting to ordain a minister, he not being a Bishop; (2) with preaching and administering the Lord’s supper in an unconsecrated building; and f 3) with disobedience of the lawful commands of his Bishop. The Court ordered that unless he expresses regret for his acts within a Ibrtuight, he be sentenced to deorivation of his office. Sir Lewis Dibdin remarked that the case was unprecedented in the Anglican Church.
