No appearance of defendant or cause of rbsence shown. Ordered to pay fi 14s forthwith, in default three iays imprisonment. Several cases were either settled '•nt of court, struck out, or adjourned. criminal. Police v. Hmi Tattoo (Mg Reade). Charged with stealing £2 15s and a coat valued at £is on Feb. 4th, from the house cf Ihaia Kereama. Convicted and fined £5, and ordered to pay costs proceedings 23s 6d. In default 14 days hard. Coat to be re-, turned. The case of Edmund Pigott vj S. Mason, was further adjourned to 15th March. The question of costs was reserved.
John Fitzgibbon (Mr Reade) v. Peter Neame (Mr Prendergast) for assault. Defendant was convicted} mud fined 40s, witnesses expenses us, solicitors fee 21s. Half the me to go to Informant. John Fitzgibbons v. Mrs Petej Neame. Charged with causing laraage to informant by throwing stones. Convicted and ordered.'to nay costs 13s and solicitors fee 2is. A case of assault against A2 Ptickson, by H. Frankland, was dismissed. The same defendant was bound over to keep the peact for six months, also to pay costs 19s 6d, solicitors fee 21s, and witnesses expenses 12s.—-A case in which Hickson charged Frankland vith breaking the peace, was dismissed.
For procuring liquor for Michael O’Reilly, a prohibited person, A. Harper was convicted and fined 20s, costs, —The same person was convicted and fined 20s, costs 7*’ for procuring liquor for John Kinley, another prohibited person,’ On a similar charge, for Frank Coyle, defendant was again fined 203, costs 79.
On charges of being found in possession of liquor whilst prohibited, John Kinley was fined 40s, costs 14s; and Michael O’Reilly 20s and costs 7s. Charges of procuring liquor foS prohibited persons against Patrick Slattery, were dismissed.
