Auckland, Feb. i. John McKenzie, a resident of Scotia Place, Newtown, was in his dining room talking to James Olive about ten o’clock last even- : ng, when it is alleged that Janies McKenzie, a brother of John McKenzie, entered the room, and placing himself against the door, drew a six-chambered revolver, exclaiming, “I have come to ■hoot my ~ brother and then my■elf.” John McKenzie lost no drae in getting behind the door. The intruder is said then to have turned his attention to Olive, rointing the revolver at him andy 'hreatening to shoot him, Jol§Sy McKenzie went for the police, Olive endeavoured to pacify James McKenzie and succeeded in redraining him until Constable Tait irrived.' The constable wrested die weapon from the man’s grasps 'hiding it fully loaded. He arrested him on a charge of presenting the revolver at his brother.
