Foley is one ot the cleverest • entertainers it has been our lot to witness, and we feel sure had Foxton residents realised this fact on Tuesday night last, the Public Nall would have been filled to overflowing, instead of there being but a meagre audience. It is • some years now since the talented conjurer paid a visit to FoxtonJ but those years have added great versatility, experience, and clevei| ness to his quick hand and sharp eye, for which those present bene* , fitted considerably. He has become possessed of a quaint humour in his travels, which never fails to draw forth the plaudits of the audience, and stands him in good stead as a tmblic entertainer. Most of his slight-of-hand tricks and. conjuring feats were decidedly novel and certainly many of them new to Foxton, whilst his ventriloquial powers were greatly ar’l mired. His mimicry of differed members of the audience certain’y “took on.” “The Shadow* graph, ’ ’ worked entirely by fingers,* was an amusing item, instancing as it did the troubles of a lady’s toilet and,other popular pictures? Mr Foley also , proved himself to be possessed of a great amount of musical talent, and extracted popular aim from bottles, glasses, bells,” and even wooden canes.
