Manawatu Herald. SATURDAY, JANUARY 6, 1906. Our Wants A VISIT FROM THE PREMIER.

Most Foxton people will be pleased to learn that we have every hope of receiving a visit at no distant date from the Right Hon. R. J. Seddon, Prime Minister. That being so, it behoves citizens to arrange some programme of campaign, so that the Kon. gentleman may be acquainted with our wants the short time he may be in our midst. Wc trust that the Chamber of Commerce will be alive to its duties, and be up and doing, so that when the Premier arrives no chance will be lost of instancing to him the fact that we are in need of increased wharf accommodation, flax-grading sheds, a through railway to Eevin, and possibly a pleasure line to the Manawatu Beacli. These appear to us the most important matters, and may those responsible make it known. We were going to suggest that the Borough Council bring under Mr ScddouT notice that we are in want of a water and fire-extin-guishing service, but perhaps our Council will wake up to the matter themselves! May the Premier’s visit be the outcome of good.
