Russia.
The strikers at Moscow on Saturday, after pillaging gunsmiths’ shops, erected barricades with telegraph poles, planks, and wire entanglements, chiefly in Sreovaya and Tversky streets. Large bodies of troops used artillery to demolish the barricades. Snipers stationed in the belfry of Strastoi Monastery picked off rioters. - Quick-firers swept the boulevards debouching the chief area of conflict. Cavalry charged directly at the barricades, which were destroyed.
