Penalties. —Flat Races —The winner of any flat race after the declaration of weights to carry a penalty of xolbs, and of every additional race a further penalty of ylbs. Horses handicapped at Bst lolb or over to cany half the above penalties. Hurdle Races— The winner of any hurdle race after the declaration of weights to carry a penalty of rolbs in the hurdle race, and ot every additional race a further penalty of ylbs. „ Definition of a Hack.—A Hack means a horse that has not at time of entry won a race of the value of 80 sovs, or races of the collective value of 200 sovs, and is not nominated in any open race at the meeting. No horse will be allowed to start whose fees are unpaid. Entries by telegram must bo eonfirmed in writing at the earliest possible opportunity. No betting allowed on the course except through the medium of the Totalisatojr. . The Stewards reserve the right te alter the date or time for receiving nominations and acceptances ae they may deem fit. Races 3,6, 8 are open to all Worse*. Lord Lyon holds an unbeaten record, and bred this year’s champion mare in Australia, Flower of Balmoral, also Prince, who in bis turn sired the champion horse of Australia. Lord Salisbury was champion horse of New Zealand for many years, both as a aim and in the show ring, never being beaten in Scotland or New Zealand.
