WHY 'TriE SOLDIERS MUTINIED. General Durovo has ordered the arrest of the organisers of the Telegraphists’ Congress. The strike is general only in St. Petersburg. Messages received via Finland stated that 130,000 workmen are idle in &t. Petersburg and Mos* cow.
The recent assailants of officers at Vladivostock were former soldiers at Port Arthur,'who complained they were herded together and were under greater restraint than when they were prisoners in Japan.
, EFFECT-*ON COMMERCE. Lieut. Sohnpdt, who was recently cashiered owing to his revolutionary sympathies, commands the cruiser Otchakoff. It is feared at St. Petersburg that in the event of a conflict with the Government, the troops will he beaten.
The Novoe Kraid alone reports - that the revolt is collapsing. Other papers state the battleships have joined the mutineers. General Linievitch has expelled 160 agitators from the army. The post and telegraph employees at Moscow have struck. FATHER GAPON AGAIN. Fatter Gapon has published his autobiography wherein he unveils the condition of modern Russia. His arrest was ordered but friends enabled him to again escape. Admiral Schmidt threatened to bombard Sevastopol if the sailors now imprisoned were court-mar--tialled.
