Mr Hawkins, a candidate for the Ftibiatua scat, addressed the largest political meeting ever held at Weber, on Saturday night. Mr Alex. Munro, County Chairman, presided. The candidate spoke for two hours, and was accorded a vote of thanks and confidence- At (he conclusion of his address, Mr Hawkins was bombarded with bouquets. In' acknowledging the floral tributes, he said he was indeed honoured in having been the first Parliamentary candidate who bail bean assaulted on the Weber platform with bouquets.
