Manawatu R wing Club.
The following gentlemen have kindly donated trophies for competition at the Water Carnival to be held on December 6th (Election Day), under the auspices of the Manawatu Rowing Club Messrs Gower, Howan, Marsh, Murray, Walker, Perreau, Hill, L. Wilson, A. Osborne, Bradley, Easton, Edwards, Barnard, and C. Johnston £l 18. An interesting programme has been drawn up, and spectators may rely upon obtaining an excellent afternoon’s amusement, the greasy boom md barrel race being expected to afford many laughable incidents. The fisherman’s race in licensed boats, and the swimming race m which nonmembers, will be well contested. The events open to members only should produce some exciting finishes, a number ot the more enthusiastic being very regular in their attendance at the boatshed, a fact which augurs well for the future of the Club.
