The Manawatu Show.

At time of writing the weather does not premise too well for the People’s Day (to-morrow) of the Palmerston Show. At the opening yesterday, the attendance was well up to the average, and if the weather only breaks fine to-morrow, the attendance should constitute a record. As evidence that the Show is increasing in popularity it should be. mentioned that the entries this year totalled 8,293, against 7,416 last year, which was the best previous record. The display of implements is said to surpass anything yet exhibited, while the quality of the cattle is much above par. Much extra Shelter has been provided since last spring, and every convenience is made for visitors. Trains leave Foxton to-morrow morning at both 8 and 9 o'clock, returning from Palmerston North at 5.35 and 7 p.m.
