A Real Live Boating Enthuslast.

TO WfcDlTOn OF THE MANAWATU HERALD,

tion to learn that the Manawatu Rowing Club has safely weathered the sea of indifference, and, having held itp annual meeting, is starting the new season in real earnest.

An energetic committee, fully alive to its responsibilities, and wilting to carry out its duties, has been elected, and it now requires only , the earnest co-operation of the members to enable the Club to reach the high state ot efficiency which (we are told) existed in the dim past. There is absolutely no reason whatever why the Manawatu Rowing Club should not again hold a regatta, and if this lamentable lack of interest could only be overcome, with such a fine river as ours, Foxton could, with oat doubt bold one of the finest regattas in the colony. Sir, I believe the committee will conscientiously do its duty, and if sufficient encouragement is obtained, will again inabgerate a series of boat races, and aquatic sports. It therefore behoves all those who take an interest in boating and boat-racing, to join the Club at once, for without suitable material from which to draw crews, the efforts of the Committee can only be abortive.—l am, &c., AgUA.
