“Too Many Cooks Spoil the Broth.”
TO THE EDITOR OF THE MANAWATU HERALD.
\ Sir,— l have heard that in a “ Mhltitiule of Councillors there is wisdom," but I think that the best proverb applicable to the last meeting re 'water supply would be “Too many cooks spoil the broth." The water we need most is for both purposes, drinking in t the warm weather and for fire pur* poses in any weather, I would there* fore like to ask our sapient legislators if they could not just as well pamp the water ten feet or so above ground, and conduct it through the town for daily use, as seal it up in underground tanks, where it may, possibly, not be required for years to come. Thanking you for your valuable space a id hoping that some of the townspeople will come forward and give their ideas upon the subject and take up a little more of it before it is to i late.—l am, &c., A Water Sufferer.
