“ ARRAH-NA.FOGUE,"
The Taylor-Carringlon Cay, wen? greeted with their usual full wad appreciative audience at the Public? Hall oq Thursday night last, when they staged Dion Boucicault’s poeti« Irish play “ Arrahna” Pogue.” The plot of the drama is so well known to need little description. Suffice it to say that some ot the characters wer* splendidly pourtrayed. One could hav# wished for better handling of tbo humorous Irish brogue than we listened to, fir few of the artists seemed,, to grasp the real tongue. As “ Shaun o’ the Post,” Charlie Taylor was one except! n ; Ward Lyons as “ Colonel O'Grady ’’ was another who may have been mistaken for a genuine subject of Kriii’s Isle. Miss Ella Carrington (“ Arrah-na-Pogue ”) scored her usual success, while Miss Ne he Armitage as “Fanny Power” acted the character of an Irish heiress to the letter. “ BeamUh McCoull ” was in the hands of Mr H. Nightingale, and received good attention, but we have seta better “Michael Feeny’s” than wt were shown. Mr C. M. Keegan bad little idea of the part of the informer. Mr Edwin Green (“Major Coffin") should be mentioned, and there were ether minor characters. Throughout the staging of “ Arrah-na-Pogua," appropriate Irish music was provided by a capable pianist. Charlie Taylor scored a success by his rendering of “ The Wearing of the Green" at the wadding scene. Miss Ella Carrington announced on Thursday night that the company would again pay Poston a visit in December.
