Manawatu Herald. SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 1905. OUR RAILWAY LEAGUE.
Tun recently-formed Railway League should prove to further the interests of Foxton considerably. At its meeting on Thursday evening last, correspondence was read from the Wellington Chamber of Commerce agreeing to receive a deputation from the newlyformed body to discuss matters pertaining to same, and it is to le hoped the representatives chosen to visit the Empire City will lay our wants plain before the Wellington Chamber, fur the latter should he capable of doing much towards increasing railway communication so far as Foxton and district is concerned. The main object aimed at is the construction of the Levin - Greatford mute, and we sincerely trust that for the benefit of the district generally, much presmre and sound argument will be brought to he ir by onr representaiivcs, who will thus effectively take the initial step in making the proposed line an accomplished fact.
